Couple of weeks ago we released an infographic pitting the two biggest video search engines against each other: YouTube vs. Vimeo. In the infographic we promised that the next battle will be for supremacy in the mobile video app arena. Now ladies and gentleman, without further adieu, allow me to introduce you to this weeks combatants: Vine vs Instagram!
Both of these video apps have come out in the same year. And since their release, there has been much debate over which video app will be the last one standing. Vine was the first one out of the gates. Twitter released Vine on January 24, 2013. This short-clip video app made quite a big impact when it was released. Soon after however, Instagram jumped into the picture. While Instagram was originally a photo-sharing software, they incorporated video sharing in June 2013.
Since then, the public has been very eager to see which video app would emerge victorious. That is why we decided to develop an infographic to properly compare and contrast the features that both video software applications have to offer.
Which Video app will Win?
As you can see, both video apps are very similar in terms of what they deliver. However, its all in the detail. While Vine was released first, they work as a separate mobile software. This means that people must consolidate a whole new group of followers to view their material. Some people could see this as a cumbersome task. Meanwhile, Instagram’s video allows you to share videos with an already established contact base.
However, some people prefer the 6 second looping video function of Vine over the 15 seconds that Instagram provide.
It is in the details like these that we will see which company will win this battle!
