The EU changed regulations on how devices are rated and labelled for energy usage – to do away with the confusing older labelling of A+, A+++ etc. – and roll out a new A to G rating system. This meant however, that many devices that were labelled as A under the old system, now could be rated C or D. Retailers were inundated with enquiries about the new rating system, and SEAI wished to make a eash-to-understand explainer, firmly aimed at retailers, to help them understand and explain the new system to consumers.
The explainer video has been rolled out to all retailers in the country by SEAI.
